Marbella on the Costa Del Sol, sometimes referred to as the Costa Del Golf, has a distinct advantage over most other European holiday resorts particularly as far as golfers are concerned. There are comparisons to being made regarding the climates, the surroundings, scenery, food etc; however there can be no argument regarding the number of golf courses and the overall quality of courses found in this region alone. The majority of people who holiday and choose to live here are influenced by the variety of golf courses open to them, coupled with arguably the fines climatet in the world and not forgetting how convenient it is for the average European to reach Marbella. You could ask what more would one want? The cost of living compares favourably to any European City in spite of a general rise in living costs, one can holiday or live here comfortably.

For the golfer where money is not an issue the first course you would want to play is Valderrama, the Robert Trent Jones designed golf course has been voted Europe’s top course for the last ten years. It has been the home of the final tournament on the European Professional circuit, the Volvo masters. Sotogrande, in my opinion, is a must play golf course should you include Las Brisas and Aloha into this exclusive foursome, it would be my particular favourite. The down side is the price of green fees which are restrictive to the average golfer, however, there are another fifty golf courses to choose from and the good news is that reasonable price green fees are now available from most courses. Additionally membership deals are available to make this much more attractive.
